We're looking for a Lifecycle Content Marketer to own email at Apify. You'll write the lifecycle emails that help users succeed, from onboarding through activation to long-term engagement. But you'll also be the person teams consult before any email goes out, advising on messaging, timing, and cadence across the company.

This isn't a role where you send campaigns on schedule and move on. We want someone who thinks about the full user experience and makes judgment calls about what users should receive and when.

What you'll be working on

  • You'll be part of the marketing team, reporting directly to the Head of Content, and working closely with PMM, Product, Sales, and Digital Customer Success.
  • Write lifecycle emails that help users succeed with Apify: onboarding, activation, re-engagement, and retention.
  • Own the messaging and quality standards for all email at Apify, including system and transactional messages like password resets and billing alerts.
  • Advise multiple teams on email timing and cadence.
  • Document user journeys and identify where email can support activation and retention.
  • Work with Digital Customer Success to implement changes. You won't be building the systems yourself, but you'll need to communicate clearly with the team that does.
  • Track performance and iterate. Use data to understand what's working and run tests to improve.

Who we're looking for

  • 5+ years in lifecycle or email marketing, ideally on a SaaS product where you owned user journeys from onboarding through retention. You have examples that show how your emails improved activation, engagement, or retention. Be ready to talk us through your work.
  • Product curiosity. You'll sign up, run Actors, and understand what users are trying to do. You can't write effective lifecycle emails without knowing the product.
  • You understand timing and cadence. You think about the user's inbox, not just your campaign calendar.
  • Comfortable working across teams. You've collaborated with Product, Sales, and other marketing functions. You can push back diplomatically when requests conflict with user experience.
  • You're familiar with email platforms and marketing automation tools. You should understand what's possible and communicate clearly with the team that implements your ideas.
  • Fluent English (C2 level). Clear, concise writing with no typos, no jargon, no clunky phrasing.
  • Data-literate. You can read dashboards, interpret results, and use data to decide what to test next.
  • We use AI extensively at Apify, and we expect you to as well. You use AI to work faster, not to avoid thinking.

What we expect from you in the first six months

You'll be part of the Content team, but your day-to-day work will be cross-functional. You'll work closely with PMMs, Product, Sales, and Digital Customer Success to understand what's being communicated and when. You should spend most of your onboarding in the Prague office to meet everyone and build these relationships.

By the end of the first month, we expect you to:

  • Get oriented on Apify culture, values, and how the various teams work together.
  • Complete a technical onboarding demo to become familiar with the Apify platform and Apify Actors.
  • Audit current email sequences and meet the teams you'll collaborate with.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities. Make your first quick wins.

By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to:

  • Take ownership of lifecycle emails for new users.
  • Propose cadence standards and begin advising teams on email timing.
  • Establish yourself as the go-to person for email questions.

From month 4 onwards, we expect you to:

  • Own quality standards for all email at Apify.
  • Use data to measure improvement and run tests that refine the user journey.
  • Expand your influence beyond lifecycle emails to shape how Apify communicates with users across all touchpoints.
  • Improve team workflows and documentation.
